Chapter One
Characters:
-Mayor: The main pig. “Everyone was quite ready to lose a hour of sleep to hear what he had to say.” (pg.4)
-Benjamin: The donkey. The oldest on the farm.
-Boxer and Clover: The cart horses. Clover had 4 fouls and each of them were taken away at a year old. Faithful to the farm.
Quotes:

-“Man is the only creature that consumes without producing.” (pg.7)
-Man serves the interest of no creature but itself.” (pg.10)

Take Away:
Mr. Jones, the farmer, is the one oppressing all the animals. The animals work hard for Jones. Yet, the animals get no reward in turn. All they are, are used to serve Jone’s tasks.
